In mid-to-late October, engineers from the Rwandan end client and general contractor visited Ningbo Tian’an for the factory acceptance test (FAT) witness inspection of transformers. This order covers two sets of 110kV power transformers and one 33kV earthing transformer, which will be deployed for the construction of two substations in Rwanda. It marks a repeat order from the African market.

With over ten days of cross-department coordination, all three transformers passed the full set of factory type tests. The FAT acceptance report was formally signed, closing the acceptance procedure. The units are fully packed and ready for shipment to the project site in Rwanda.

On-site FAT Acceptance Testing

During the inspection, the sales and high-voltage technical team of Ningbo Tian’an accompanied the Rwandan engineers throughout the process. On-site explanations were provided for all high-voltage test items, and technical inquiries raised by the client were addressed promptly. All test results complied with the requirements specified in the project technical agreement. Both the end client and general contractor approved the test outcomes, and the FAT was successfully closed out.

This is a repeat order. The 110kV transformers previously supplied by Tian’an have been operating stably on the local power grid. Proven product reliability, consistent delivery performance and professional technical support have secured this repeat purchase, serving as solid recognition from the overseas client for the quality of Tian’an high-voltage transformers.

Production Line Tour & Quality Control Verification

Between FAT sessions, the Rwandan delegation toured the production lines for Tian’an oil-immersed and dry-type transformers. They gained first-hand insights into the full manufacturing workflow and critical quality control procedures, including core lamination, winding, insulation impregnation, factory testing and finished-product protection packaging.

The site visit allowed the foreign engineers to witness Tian’an’s mature high-voltage transformer manufacturing system and rigorous quality control standards, further building confidence in our supply capacity for African power grid projects.

With the successful completion of FAT for this second batch of transformers, the Rwandan client representatives expressed their intention to deepen long-term cooperation on power equipment.
